About the brand name generator
A brand name should be short, easy to spell and easy to say. This tool mixes your keywords with common brand endings and starts, and also blends your own words together.
Pick a style below to change the feel of the results.
Tips for better results
- Try short words of 3 to 7 letters first.
- Click Generate again. Each click gives a new set.
- Copy your favorites and say them aloud before you decide.
- Check domain, handle and trademark availability for any business use.
How the Brand Name Generator works
The generator starts from your keyword and builds names in three ways. First, it adds an ending that matches the style you choose. Modern uses endings such as ly, io and ora. Classic uses words such as co, works and house. Playful uses words such as pop, joy and buzz. Second, it adds a short starter, such as get, go, neo or bright. Third, if you enter a second keyword, it blends the two words and joins them as one name.
It then removes duplicates and any name longer than 28 characters. You see up to 18 ideas per click.
Choosing a style
Match the style to your customers. Modern suits software and online services. Classic suits trades, studios and professional firms. Playful suits food, kids' products and creative shops. Try all three with the same keyword. The difference shows fast, and you may find a mix you like.
Pick a keyword that works
A single, concrete word gives the best results. "Bean" works better than "premium coffee experience." Use a word a customer would say, and avoid long phrases. If you want a name that fits two ideas, enter one idea in each box.
Turn ideas into a real name
A generated name is only a start. Shorten it, say it aloud and check it. Our guide on how to choose a brand name lists five tests that every strong name passes. Then follow the business name checklist to check handles, registries and trademarks. If you plan a local shop, read our ideas for small business names.
Why a free domain matters
A name without a usable address is hard to use. Read our domain name guide for the rules on extensions, renewal prices and security.
Frequently asked questions
How do I choose a good brand name?
Keep it short, say it aloud, avoid odd spellings and check that the domain and social handles are free.
Are the names trademark-safe?
No tool can promise that. Search your local trademark database before you launch.
Should the name include my keyword?
Not always. A distinctive name is easier to protect, while a keyword name can explain what you do.
